As our Senior DevSecOps Engineer we'll look to you for skills, knowledge and expert practice of Infrastructure and application security solutions. You'll also be a role model to the rest of our DevOps and and Engineering community, showing us how it's done and helping us build greater DevSecOps capability.

Collaborate across our Architecture and Engineering teams, as well as other multi-disciplinary experts, to apply security services that keep DWP, and our users safe.
You will take responsibility as a technical security lead within our expansive Health services team, managing junior DevSecOps cloud infrastructure engineers. Together with colleagues across the group you will define, develop, and deliver outstanding cloud solutions using your experience across cyber security.
Day to day you will:
- Provide Security Governance and optimisation services to our citizens on the health platform.
- Advise on security best practices, and guide in developing, adopting, and enforcing security and access policies appropriate to our cloud platforms. (Aws, Azure)
- Conduct vulnerability assessments of our cloud assets, deliver remediation recommendations, and provide knowledgeable assistance in resolving identified vulnerabilities. (AWS Security hub, Azure Security centre, sentinel)
- Direct the continuous improvement of our governance platform and tooling, by providing input into the direction of roadmap and contributing to the development of our tooling. (SonarQube, OWASP Zap, Trivy, API testing with Postman etc)
What stack, knowledge and experience will you need?
- Microsoft security certifications Az500 or AWS security certification;
- Experience in performing security vulnerability assessments, will know your way around regulations like PCI and NIST, and may have a CISSP/CCSP or equivalent security accreditation;
- Ethical hacking knowledge and experience of controls such OWASP top 10, CEH, OSCP ETC;
- Knowledge of CI/CD Pipeline as Jenkins, Gitlab, AzureDevOps;
- Knowledge of docker and/or Kubernetes.

You will be based in one of our brilliant digital hubs in either Blackpool, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham Sheffield or Newcastle, whichever is most convenient for you.

We offer pay of up to £75,781.
You will be eligible for a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions of 27.9%, worth over £13,000 a year.
